What Guests Wore: Lisa Folawiyo's J Label Launch at Temple Muse
LAGOS, Nigeria - It was the best of industry celebrations this past weekend to fete the launch of designer Lisa Folawiyo's newest line J Label at Temple Muse. Conceived as a capsule of day-to-night pieces of Folawiyo's favorite silhouettes, J Label reimagines staple shirt dresses, asymmetric skirts, ruffled jackets, and summer robes in striking new prints.
Yet, sometimes at the most fashionable of fashion launches, the most interesting outfits are worn by the guests themselves. Bola Balogun paired simple joggers with a printed blazer decked out in sequins and miniature pom-poms. Accessorized with a classic bucket bag and literal gold-leaf heels, Balogun certainly looked ready to transition from day to night. The lady of the hour Folawiyo took a more polished approach in one of her namesake shift dresses, where she added a dash of glamour with a set of sculptural earrings. Nigerian-Canadian singer Falana was stunning in an all-over print ensemble and tiny Zashadu bag. With such stylish guests, the J Label is off to a phenomenal start.
